by WHITECHAPEL, one of the most brutal death core bands on the scene, hit the stage at The Hawthorne Theater in Portland Wednesday October 29th to promote their “OUR ENDLESS WAR 2014” tour. Openers “Glasscloud” and “Upon a Burning Body” rounded out a ferocious line up.
WHITECHAPEL opened the show with “OUR ENDLESS WAR”. Phil Bozeman was in perfect form for his onslaught of vocal brutality he unleashed upon the crowd. He looked pissed off, and ready to kick some metal ass. The band also played “THE SAW IS THE LAW”, “MONO”, “WORSHIP THE DIGITAL AGE” and from some older releases “PROSTATIC FLUID ASPHYXIATION”, “POSSESSION” , “POSSIBILITIES OF AN IMPOSSIBLE EXISTENCE”. The crowd was not as violent as WHITECHAPEL fans are usually known for, but there were several crowd surfers and stage divers that did not disappoint.
To the delight of many fans, the band made available for purchase a VIP meet and greet for the low price of twenty dollars. It was definitely a high energy, exciting show. Hopefully next time there will be a little less fog.
