A news helicopter crashed Tuesday morning near the Space Needle in Seattle, killing two people and critically injuring another.
The injured man, 38, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with burns over 50 percent of his body, a spokesman for Seattle Fire said.
The crash appeared to be on Broad Street, near the city landmark, police said and appeared to have crashed seconds after liftoff.
Rich Marriott, a meteorologist for KING5 news, said weather did not appear to have contributed to the crash — visibility was clear and winds were not gusty, he said.
