Four-Twenty at Louie G’s?  Sounds fun to us. The premier rock establishment in the 253 is hosting Schubapalooza 1 on Saturday, April 20, 2013.  Schubapalooza is the  result of a slow work day for and the over-active imaginations of  The Schubicle and the Northwest Music Scene.

The Schubicle is located inside the Clear Channel building which houses some of Seattle’s most popular radio stations.

  • Schubapalooza 1 is an all ages affair at Louie G’s
  • 4/20 at 7:00 PM
  • Raffles throughout the night with killer swag, with all proceeds from the raffles going to charity.(TBD)
  • Tons of free swag from The Schubicle.

We are constructing a replica of the most famous cubicle in the world “The Schubicle” for the show….be sure to stop in and get your picture in The Schubicle.

Here’s the bands that are playing the show and stay tuned for the announcement of a special guest emcee.

Guest host will be Michael “Wanz” Wansley of “Thrift Shop” fame. Of course all of us in the northwest love to see what our boys have been doing….they are truly tearing it up…..Wanz has been kind enough to tear away from the Macklemore dream ride and will come hang out with us in Louie’s dream for a few hours and emcee Schubapalooza.

The Bands:

Black Diamond  Black Diamond formed in August 2011 and although a new band they are not unseasoned professionals without a following, most of them having been popular in the Seattle music scene for several years.  Black Diamond has found itself propelled forward at a momentous speed. Shortly after making their public debut, the group was asked to open for National Acts Great White, Lynch Mob, Adema and Witchburn. They also played local radio station KISW’s The BJ Shea Morning Experience 12th Anniversary Party.

Black Diamond have been fortunate to have quick word of mouth from loyal enthusiasts reach venue owners and promoters alike, keeping them in demand as their music and fan base continues to swell.

Big Wheel Stunt Show Big Wheel Stunt Show is a small vehicle with a loud engine. By paring it down to rock and roll’s bare essentials, guitarist Evan Nagle, bassist Jake Melius and drummer Justin Gimse have proved that it’s not the size of your band that counts — it’s what you do with it. From Rolling Stone Spain, to KEXP, scribes and DJs across the world have been shouting their praise for 2012′s Wonderful Life, the Tacoma, Wash. band’s latest release. Like a carnival on drugs, Wonderful Life takes hold of your brain’s pleasure center and drops it straight down into Alice’s rabbit hole.

Tacoma’s Hardest Working Band – Rolling out 3 Full-Length Albums, and Over 285 Original Rock Shows together since Dishing it Live for the First Time on May 21, 2009.  The Band’s 2011 Second Album – “Cheetah Milque” has garnered sweet reviews around the Globe and the new follow-up “Wonderful LIFE” has had great press prior to the album’s release from the Seattle Weekly, The Soda Shop, Tacoma Weekly, Planet Heavy and Ripple Effect.

Drawing influence from the likes of MC5, Grand Funk, Muddy Waters, the Who, Stone Temple Pilots, Van Halen, Pearl Jam, Motown, Black Sabbath and a veritable World of Others – BIG WHEEL STUNT SHOW has consistently played to Smiling Faces and Well-Rung Ears.

Amadon  Amadon is a group of People that love to make music. pure and simple. Amadon got its start as many bands do, in the drummers wood shed under the name ‘Savant’. uh, the woodshed part.. I mean obviously not all bands start with the name Savant…”We are Amadon! And were here to stay.”

Jason Kertson & The Immortals

15 year old Jason Kertson has been drawn to music his whole life. He began learning to play the guitar at age 7 and mastering the instrument has been his passion ever since. He began performing in coffee houses and other venues when he was 9. His favorite artists from early on were Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, Alice in Chains, and The Sonics (one of Jason’s grandfathers is Rob Lind who is an original member of this iconic Seattle band). When he was 12 he started posting YouTube videos. This has led to many opportunities.  At age 13 he performed at the Layne Staley Tribute Concert. He performed four Alice in Chains covers and stole the show. That fall, Jason was the youngest person ever to perform live on the Seattle radio station, KISW. At age 14, he was invited by the Experience Music Project to perform a grunge cover set in the Sky Church in conjunction with the opening of the Nirvana exhibit. He has performed live on Clear Channel’s “The Bob Rivers Show”, a local television show, “Evening Magazine”, and “Jason Kertson and the Immortals” performs regularly at Seattle area venues. Jason had the privilege of opening up for Styx in January of 2012.  In February, 2011, Ray William Johnson, a YouTube Icon, tweeted “everybody is looking for the next Justin Bieber. My money is on this kid” and he attached a link of a YouTube video that was recorded when Jason was 12. Jason had 250,000 YouTube views that week. In the weeks that followed, we were contacted by several talent agents, managers, etc. One of the people who expressed interest in working with him was Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. This has led to a mentoring relationship, and Jason recorded a demo in Dave’s studio (Vic’s Garage). As a guitarist, Jason is very diverse in his abilities; from very complex acoustic styles to technically challenging electric guitar solos. As a vocalist, his soulful voice defies his age. As a writer, his insightful lyrics are moving and relatable, and his music is powerful and melodic. He already has 25 original songs to his credit. The Immortals:

Troy “Ringo” Wageman is the drummer. Troy’s skillful execution and progressive style is a perfect complement to Jason’s original material.

Jake Kelly is the newest Immortal on bass joining the band in April 2012.

Strangely Alright  Led by singer-songwriter Regan Lane Strangely Alright is a 5 piece Adult Alternative Power Pop Rock Band from Tacoma, Washington with covers and originals that will make ya dance and the message that it’s okay to be who you are and that we all have unique talents and gifts!!
