The line-up for KEXP & Seattle Center Present Concerts at the Mural is now complete. The series offers live music on four evenings, featuring a curated line-up of noted indie musicians from our region, along with some noted national artists, free-of-charge, starting at 5:30 p.m., Fridays, Aug. 7 – 28, in Mural Amphitheatre at Seattle Center.
Rock Night launches the series on Aug. 7. KEXP favorites Other Lives headlines, with The Shivas playing support and Tangerine opening.
Natasha Kmeto returns this year to headline Decibel Festival Night on Aug. 14, with Manatee Commune supporting and Shaprece opening. Fountain of Light, produced in collaboration with Decibel Festival, will follow the concert at 9 p.m. at International Fountain. Natasha Kmeto DJs under her moniker DJ Gigs, joined by Nordic Soul and visuals supplied by Baryonyx.
SassyBlack joins an outstanding line-up for Donor Appreciation Night, Friday, Aug. 21. The concert starts at 5:15 p.m. with the Pianos in the Park contest winner, followed by SassyBlack. The Coup headlines, with Pillar Point playing support. SassyBlack (Catherine Harris-White) is a singer, songwriter and producer from Seattle, touring in support of her third solo release, ‘Personal Sunlight’. Her band THEESatisfaction signed to Sub Pop in 2011 and have release two albums, ‘awE naturalE’ and ‘EarthEE’.
Swingin’ Roadhouse concludes the series on Aug. 28, with Ha Ha Tonka headlining, Country Lips supporting and Evening Bell opening.
Now in its eighth year, Concerts at the Mural is realized through a remarkable partnership between KEXP and Seattle Center. The series offers a blend of musical styles for Center neighbors, downtown workers, music lovers and families. Seattle Center contributes the concert space, sound, lighting, and technical and event expertise. KEXP curates the “music that matters.”
Seating for Concerts at the Mural is on a first-come basis. Folding chairs and blankets are allowed. Large coolers/ice chests, umbrellas, pets, video, and audio recorders are not allowed. There will be a beer garden on site serving beer from Redhook Brewery, wine from Columbia Winery and a special Seattle drink with Our/Vodka for people 21 years of age and older with a valid ID. Fresh foods will also be available on-site. In addition, Seattle Center Armory food merchants will be open for food and drink.
