Nirvana’s album Nevermind turns 23 years old today. The greatest rock albums never seem to age regardless of when they were released and Nevermind certainly is no exception, which is why despite the fact that Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ came out well over two decades ago, it still sounds as fresh as it did in 1991 and is a staple on classic rock radio.
Nevermind seemed to turned Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic into overnight rockstars, technically the album’s success didn’t happen overnight. One thing for sure around the northwest and is that most everyone has an opinion about Nirvana but with that level of success, it’s inevitable. Some people thought they sucked, had no talent and their music was shit, while others worshiped the ground they walked on. That battle remains to be fought and probably will forever. We’d prefer to stay out of that war and just listen to the music.
When ‘Nevermind first came out, it entered the Billboard Album charts at number 144, and it finally hit number one in January 1992, famously kicking Michael Jackson’s ‘Dangerous’ out of the number one slot.
Here’s the album in it’s entirety, one video at a time. RIP Kurt
