The Hometown Throwdown, featuing 11 of country music’s up-and-coming young artists, will take over Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium on July 14, courtesy of the Wolf 100.7 FM.
Twenty-five bucks gets you a ticket to enjoy Northwest native Austin Jenckes, as well as Dan + Shay, Danielle Bradberry, Lindsay Ell, American Young, Joel Crouse, Kelleigh Bannen, Joey Hyde, Rae Solomon, Sammy Steele and Robbie Walden.
In addition to music the event also features the first Homestyle International Chili Society in Washington.
Homestyle chili is defined by the International Chili Society as the cook’s favorite combination of ingredients resulting in a dish seasoned with chili peppers and spices. Prizes awarded for the top 3 competitors.
There will be $5 tastings of Chili at the event.
Teams can have up to four members and space is limited.

There will be no restriction or requirement as to the ingredients, but the entry must be homemade and have chili pepper flavor. Garnish is allowed if the cook so desires. Homestyle chili must be made on site.
