The 2014 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival has announced its headlining acts.
The annual summer festival will feature Gregg Allman, Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Maceo Parker, Lee Fields & the Expressions, and John Nemeth & the Bo-Keys.
A few other acts were revealed on the festival’s schedule page, including Little Ed & the Blues Imperials and Blind Boy Paxton, a young acoustic guitarist who was a hit at last year’s concerts.
The event will include over 100 acts and run from July 3-6.
As always, the festival will benefit the Oregon Food Bank. Last year’s event, which included Robert Plant and Mavis Staples, passed its $1 million donation target with $1,315,000. The event faced a more personal setback late last year, with the death of longtime production manager Jim Miller in December.
“He was very quick with the quip that would blow your mind and was a wonderful person to spend time with,” festival producer Clay Fuller said at the time. “As people have said, it’s going to be a big void.”
Tickets for the Waterfront Blues Festival will go on sale in late March.
