Returning with their first album in 18 years, Faith No More provided Seattle fans with an incredible show at the Paramount Theater this past Thursday. The 19-song set was a mix of the band’s greatest and most popular tracks together with a few of the newest to be released on the upcoming album Sol Invictus, due on May 19.
Mike Patton and the gang set out on this tour to what looks to be a continuation of the ‘zen vibes’ that brought them back together as a band in 2009: white stage and clothing, flowers, beads and chants. Perhaps they have indeed found peace amongst each other after being so many years apart, with their serenity, confidence and enthusiasm certainly there to be seen.
Effortless interactions with their fans and the wit which they have never abandoned made the night memorable for most, along with some wheelchair crowdsurfing which surprised not only the public but also the band members, and according to Patton was “one of the best he had ever seen”.
It truly felt like they have missed playing for their Seattle fans, and being able to feel the heat and intensity from the crowd only proved that Seattle certainly missed Faith No More and were really happy to have them back, even if for a night.
