Since announcing the release of their debut self-titled EP (out 4/22/16), Washington alternative pop/rock outfit Night Argent have been receiving rave reviews across the board. Our own review of the EP hailed the release as one that could “easily be found on a playlist that includes Imagine Dragons, Bastille, and Awolnation…packed with rock-tinged tracks, filled with infectious lyrics and melodies,” and fans are wildly anticipating hearing more. Today, Night Argent is answering their call by premiering their soulful yet stratospheric rock ballad, “Kamikaze,” before they hit the road to play SXSW Music Week. The track is one that consistently brings out the most gut-wrenching and emotional performances from the band, mirrored in the track’s impassioned lyrics. Night Argent’s frontman Chase Manhattan had the following to say about “Kamikaze“:
“By far one of our favorites to play live, ‘Kamikaze’ is a song that allows us to put everything we have out there with no reservations, and the energy and freedom that brings us tends to carry through the rest of our set. The Japanese word ‘Kamikaze’ translates into english as “Divine Wind” or “Typhoon”, and throughout the song, it’s used as a metaphor for the beautifully unpredictable nature of love and its limitless potential for chaos and destruction. When the day comes you find yourself falling in love, you learn you have two choices. Try to distance yourself from it, or embrace it fully. Either way, you just pray it doesn’t leave you completely and utterly destroyed.” – Chase Manhattan
NIGHT ARGENT is an electrifying alternative pop/rock band that combines the infectious melodies of a Top-40 Pop act with the high-energy live performance of a well-traveled rock powerhouse. Chase Manhattan (lead vocals), Jeff Stachofsky (guitar), Shane Santanna (keys), Evan Taylor (bass), and Zac Burrell (drums) are the five individuals who give the band their dynamic, breakthrough sound. Night Argent’s self-produced music video for the EP’s lead single “Nothing More Beautiful,” made its debut last year on RedBull.com with rave reviews, only to be followed by another mind-blowing self-production for their take on a holiday classic “Cold (Carol of the Bells).”
Night Argent has played alongside Imagine Dragons, Andy Grammar, X Ambassadors, Mother Mother, Civil Twilight, Big Data, Jukebox The Ghost, and more. Since winning the 2015 International Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, the band has partnered with Outerloop Management and Artist Group International booking, and are set to officially debut Night Argent EP on April 22, 2016. The forthcoming debut EP releasehas been described by Talk Nerdy With Us as having, “a tight, almost symphonic, genuinely unique sound.” It features five original tracks from the band, including a bonus never-before-heard deconstructed version of their hit single “Nothing More Beautiful.” After releasing their debut EP, the band plans to head into the studio with John Feldmann (5 Seconds of Summer, Panic! At The Disco) to complete production on new music.
