75 Bands in 75 Days – A Local Music Showcase

In an attempt to turn your ears onto good new local music that you might not, but should have known about, starting October 18, we are going to feature 75 bands from the Pacific Northwest over the next 75 days leading up to 2015. When we say Pacific Northwest we are talking about the region that extends from southern Oregon up to British Columbia and then over to Boise.

You’ll find things like videos, album reviews, Soundcloud and/or Bandcamp links, interviews, really just any way to help spread the word about bands that we think you should know about. The articles will post to our website and then out to our large social media pages….Facebook 48K & Twitter 18K+.

We have a lot of bands in mind to kick things off, but we’ll also be accepting submissions for this series from any bands, musicians, artists, etc. that are local to the Pacific Northwest and would like more people to know about them. This isn’t a music chart, and the bands featured will be in no particular order. Any genre goes. Submissions should be sent to [email protected]. Inclusion is not guaranteed but it’s likely.

If you’d like your band to be considered, send an email beginning with the subject line “75/75…”. Include any pertinent links, social media pages, website, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc., along with a short bio of the band and a photo of the band, album cover, or some kind of graphic we can use in the article.

The whole idea behind this is to give more press to hard-working local bands, because the upper-tier bands get plenty of exposure 24/7 from sites like Blabbermouth and Loudwire. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but there’s a lot of local talent that doesn’t get nearly as much press as they deserve.
