Ladies and gentlemen, welcome, welcome, to 75 Bands in 75 Days, where we bring you the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, one day and one band at a time. Today, we’re returning to the Emerald City to spotlight one of the best talents that their scene has to offer, singer Lena Simon, better known as Kairos.
Kairos is a dream pop project from Seattle, led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Lena Simon, a contributing member of fellow Seattle bands Pollens, Throw Me the Statue and Tomten. The music created under this label is very light and atmospheric pop music that fans of artists like A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Beach House and iamamiwhoami will feel instantly at home with. Listening to her music, it’s obvious a lot of care and attention goes into these seemingly simple and straightforward dream pop songs.
Kairos‘ self-titled debut EP was released in May of this year, and is very impressive and monolithic for being Simon’s first ever release under this name. Tracks off of it like “Sister” and “Dirt & Grit” stand out as solid alternative pop tracks. You can purchase the Kairos EP at this location. Read our review of the EP here.
